LESS is BETTER

April 2025

Sinner won the Australian Open this January in one of the most dominant efforts I can ever remember seeing.   Alexander Zverev played outstanding tennis in the finals and Sinner beat him in straight sets in a match that there seemed to not be much doubt about what the outcome would be.

Sinner is tall, long, lean and uses his frame to get tremendous leverage on his shots.   What strikes me about him is how simple and compact his game appears.   Very little wasted movement, short compact and nicely extended strokes.  Keeps everything in front of him.

Often times we see players “winding up” and “reaching back” and taking long backswings.  This normally does nothing more than increase the potential for errors.   Keeping the hands in front, shortening and simplifying the stroke (same on volleys) will almost without exception improve your potential for success!

Now go hit ‘em good and most important HAVE FUN!
